What is Cellular Therapy?

Cellular therapy is a cutting edge yet natural process in which a physician harvests your stem cells, then takes the MSC-rich scaffold to help your body heal itself. Thanks to ground-breaking technology, your recovery is optimized. You regain control of your life without resorting to surgery or medication.

You can bypass the risks and complications associated with conventional treatments and still recover from pain. In contrast, cellular therapy is a simple but powerful procedure that uses your naturally occurring stem cells to allow your body to heal.

What Does Cellular Therapy Treat?

Cellular therapy is used to treat chronic pain in your hips, hands/wrists, knees, foot/ankles, shoulders, back and elbows. It reintroduces you to a life unhindered by pain, where you can embrace the activities that you love.

How Does It Work?

Adult stem cells have the ability to differentiate and regenerate, and can renew themselves. We recruit these cells from your body, concentrate them, then re-inject them into the damaged area to help your body heal naturally.

Bone Marrow Aspirate

Your bone marrow contains multipotent stem cells, which play a vital role in healing. Multipotent stem cells have the remarkable ability to differentiate into any cell type in your body, including muscle, tendon, ligament and bone cells. During severe or chronic injury, however, your body might not be able to transfer enough of these valuable stem cells to the injured area. Stem cell therapy using Bone Marrow Aspirate can solve this problem by increasing the number of available stem cells.

The procedure for Stem Cell Therapy using Bone Marrow Aspirate (BMAC) begins with the physician applying local anesthetic to the patient’s lower back and hip, which numbs the area. Next, the physician draws a small amount of bone marrow through a needle. This is known as a bone marrow aspiration and, unlike a bone marrow biopsy, does not involve the removal of bone, making the procedure much more comfortable.

Once aspirated, the bone marrow solution is processed to maximize the retrieval of stem cells. This is all done immediately following the aspiration and makes it so the entire procedure can take place in one visit. Once ready, the solution is reinjected into the area of pain using image-guidance (real-time fluoroscopy or ultrasound) to optimize the accuracy of delivery.

Adipose Derived Stem Cell

Adipose tissue (also known as fat tissue) contains mesenchymal stem cells that have been linked to cell replacement and wound healing. Stem cells taken from fat can be harvested through liposuction and can be found in any type of fat tissue making them easily accessible.

The AdiPrep Adipose Transfer System takes fat from your body and transfers the stem cells to tissues that require healing. Although the presence of contaminants such as excess fluids, oils, or lipids can decrease the chances of the graft being successful, the AdiPrep Adipose Transfer System overcomes this challenge by completely cleansing the tissue and removing any contaminants before stem cells are implanted.

You receive pure adipose tissue, optimized to ensure ideal conditions for the graft to be successful.

Platelet Rich Plasma

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is blood that has been concentrated to increase the number of platelets. Platelets are crucial to healing because they contain important growth factor proteins that aid your body in the recovery process. By increasing the number of platelets in your plasma, we can optimize your ability to heal.

Obtaining platelet rich plasma starts out simply, with a small amount of blood being drawn from the patient. From there, more sophisticated technology takes over. The blood is placed in a centrifuge, where the platelets and blood cells are separated. As the platelets become more concentrated, they are put back into the plasma. Bringing things full circle-and with minimal risk or time-this enhanced plasma is injected back into the patient’s body.

The concentrated platelet rich plasma, which contains vital growth factors for recovery, stimulates the tendon or ligament, which triggers new collagen to develop and helps the tendon or ligament to strengthen and heal. PRP therapy is offered under a physician’s supervision and, because it comes from the patient’s own blood, has no risk of transmitting diseases or inflammatory immune responses. Patients receive safe, effective treatment without the risks of surgery.
